Reverse osmosis is the process of forcing a solvent from a region of high solute concentration through a semipermeable membrane to a region of low solute concentration by applying a pressure in excess of the osmotic pressure.

Operation of The Purification System
Reverse Osmosis is probably the finest form of filtration known to man. Particles as small as 0.001 micron can be rejected by the semi-permeable membrane, allowing for extremely high water purity levels.

Pre-Filtration
As water enters the system it first passes through a sediment pre-filter intended to provide 5 micron pre-filtration prior to the reverse osmosis system membranes. The M-1000 is equipped with dual pre filters.

Purification
The purification membrane is the finest filter in the system, removing particles as small as 0.001 micron (a human hair is approximately 75 micron in diameter). This synthetic material is a high flux coefficient membrane, meaning that it will produce a uniform supply of water at varying temperatures and pressures.

Post Purification
Bacteria in the water can be captured and killed, while the activated carbon addresses pesticides, herbicides, and gaseous tastes & odors that were not addressed in the purification process.

Membrane Housing
Stainless Steel Membrane Housings – Feature a patented design and improved sealing capabilities.

Pump
The pumps supplied with the FSHS- 2,200 through 17,000 reverse osmosis systems are multistage centrifugal type. The M-1000 and units under 2200 gpd are a rotary style pump.

Motor
All motors on the FSHS units are open drip-proof (ODP) type. Single-phase motors are supplied on most models. The standard motors are 60 Hz, but 50 Hz motors are supplied as requested. Voltage will be either 110V or 220V (for 60 Hz and most 50 Hz frequencies) or 190V (for some 50 Hz models). Designed for continuous high pressures.

Frame
One Aluminum Frame– Corrosion resistant and light weight.

Pressure Gauges
Two Stainless Steel Pressure Gauges – For monitoring the system's operating pressure and the filter & carbon operating pressure.

Low Pressure Switch
One Low Pressure Switch – Safety device which protects the pump from running dry when there is insufficient feed water pressure.

Solenoid Valve
One Solenoid Valve with Manual Override UL Approved – Assists with the on/off functionality of the system.

Concentrate Valve
One Stainless Steel Needle Valve – Regulates the systemʼs recovery (product to waste ratio).

Computer Controller
One Computer Controller (UL listed) with on/off switch, pre-treat lockout, tank full contacts, and low pressure monitoring.

Flow Meters
One Product (0-10 GPM) & One Waste (0-10 GPM) Flow Meters – Enables operator to accurately adjust product to waste ratio and monitor systems performance.

TDS Meter
One Panel Mount TDS Meter – Provides you with accurate readings of the product water quality.

Easy Maintenance & Operation
PuROMax reverse osmosis systems feature a compact design, are pre-plumbed, prewired, and have all of their components strategically located for easy access and inspection.
